INTRODUCTION TO SCRAMBLING

Learn the basic skills of scrambling with a fully qualified instructor.

This is for people who are already keen hill walkers and want to push themselves a bit further. Scrambling involves steep rocky sections and exposed ridges that you can move across without the use of your hands.

Spend up to 3 days with us doing adventurous scrambles such as Crib Coch and Tryfan’s North Ridge among others. Where we go will depend on your skill level and the weather. We will be staying on grade 1 scrambles. This is the easiest grade of scramble.

A meeting point will be arranged nearer the time in Llanberis or Capel Curig. We will take into account where you are staying and the weather forecast when arranging the meeting point.

ADVANCED SCRAMBLING & MOUNTAINEERING

This scrambling is designed for people who have done lots of grade 1 scrambles and want to move onto something a bit harder. It will involve the use of helmets and harnesses and will be grade 2 or 3 scrambles. It is suitable for people who have not rock climbed before. Although this would be an advantage as you will know the basic techniques.

We will guide you and teach you as much as you are capable of absorbing. Advanced scrambling is also suitable for people who want to learn to move together over steep rocky terrain in preparation for a Summer alpine trip or those who are thinking of tackling objectives such as the Cullin Ridge on Skye.

A meeting point will be arranged nearer the time in Llanberis, Capel Curing or Betws y Coed. We will take into account where you are staying when arranging the meeting point.

Price: £200per day or £360 for two days. Prices are per group.

Dates: We can arrange scrambling sessions at your convenience.
Please give us plenty of time to arrange this especially over the busy Summer months.

BOOKING AND EQUIPMENT

Equipment Required

We will be scrambling in the mountains of Snowdonia. The weather can often be inclement and cold. You will need warm waterproof clothing, sturdy footwear, water and a packed lunch and a rucksack. If you have your own climbing equipment, please bring it along if booking an advanced scrambling course.

If it is good weather, please bring sun cream and sun hats to protect you from the sun. If the weather is looking bad in the lead up to the event we will contact you to arrange alternatives.

Payments

Please pay the full amount two weeks prior to the start date. All payments can be made online.

HOW DO I BOOK?

We will only book instructors and make arrangements once a deposit has been paid. If you would like to ask us any questions prior to booking or would like more information please contact admin@prideexpeditions.co.uk . Once you have decided the adventure you would like to do please click on the orange ‘book you place’ tab to pay a deposit securely at our expedition shop.

DO YOU DO CUSTOM PACKAGES?

We have the expertise and the local knowledge to arrange your adventure. If you would like something a bit different to those advertised on our website please contact our Managing director to discuss Nick@prideexpeditions.co.uk . Safety is paramount to everything we do, we will not agree to provide anything that where safety is overly compromised or anything we consider damaging to the local environment.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

All our adventures take place outside. We are an adventure company and operate in wilderness, sometimes hostile environments. Please be prepared to spend the whole day outside with everything that you need including lunch and water to keep hydrated. We will send you a comprehensive kit list once you have signed up for you adventure. Please pay strict attention to this and let us know if you do not have or are unsure what waterproof clothing is or sturdy footwear consists of. We would rather take the time to help you understand and be properly equipped rather than compromise safety by not being adequately prepared.

WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE?

We do not make bookings until a deposit is received. If you pay a deposit and we are unable to provide you adventure we will postpone your trip to a date that we can provide it or give you a refund. Once we have a deposit we will make bookings and contact you to confirm and highlight the payment schedule. For UK adventures please pay the remainder of the balance as soon as we have contacted you with confirmation. For overseas adventures once we have secured enough deposits we will send you a payment schedule that will spread the payments for the expedition out at intervals in the lead up to the trip. If we do not secure enough deposits to make the expedition viable we will refund your deposit.
