Crib coch - Our local scramble

Pride Expeditions is a small adventure company based in the heart of Snowdonia National Park. We are very privileged to call Snowdonia our home. Crib Coch and Snowdon are our back yard and we are based very near to the lovely little town of Llanberis where we meet most of our clients to spend a day or two on an adventure in Snowdonia.

Looking across to Crib Coch

We love to spend our time in the mountains that surround us. Even on Christmas day we started off the day with a a traverse of Crib Coch before heading home for a well deserved Christmas lunch.

Crib Coch is a grade 1 scramble. This is the easiest of scramble grades which go from 1 to 3. Although it is technically an ‘easy’ scramble it has very serious consequences if you slip or take the wrong route. It is a very common place for our local mountain rescue team to have to go and rescue people who have bitten off a bit too much or gone off the main route. It is certainly not the place to be on a wet or windy day.

If you enjoy hill walking and feel ready for the next challenge we run introduction to scrambling courses. We will take you out into the mountains of Snowdonia and teach you how to move across the rock safely. You will start by learning on easy, inconsequential scrambles and if you book two days with us and we feel you are capable we will take you across Cib Coch or a similar Snowdonia scramble.
